About Envirocon

Sustainable Concrete
Envirocon is on a mission to revolutionise construction with sustainability at its core. In New Zealand alone, 300,000 tonnes of concrete end up as waste each year—that’s equivalent to 30 billion cups of coffee. We are dedicated to reducing this waste stream through our groundbreaking product stewardship scheme, which redirects surplus concrete into high-quality precast concrete blocks.
Our innovative technology powers Interbloc and Stonebloc, delivering durable, flexible, and efficient precast solutions for retaining walls, bulk storage, and infrastructure projects. By reimagining waste as a resource, we’re not just protecting the environment—we’re paving the way for a greener future in construction.

What We Do
Envirocon isn't just about sustainable precast concrete blocks; it's about building success with you. From initial designs using our Envirobuild software to collaborating until your project is complete, we're dedicated to your 100% satisfaction. Our team tackles your challenges with innovative, cost-effective precast solutions, ensuring a greener and more successful build.

Sustainability is at the core of Envirocon
Circular Economy
Our current linear economy takes natural resources, makes things, and then disposes of them as waste. In contrast, the circular economy uses resources with ever-increasing efficiency, ensuring everything we create can be used for as long as possible and then be recycled or up-cycled. Envirocon has embedded this circular economy approach in our manufacturing system and product design, taking high-quality excess products from the old linear economy and up-cycling them into engineered precast concrete blocks, like Interbloc and Stonebloc.
As a leader in the circular economy, Envirocon’s innovative approach reduces costs, stimulates local economies, fosters innovation, and minimizes environmental impact. By cutting waste and transforming it into high-quality precast concrete blocks, we help combat climate change and build a more sustainable world.
PRODUCT STEWARDSHIP SCHEME
Product Stewardship is the concept of manufacturers taking responsibility for their products through to the end of life. By adopting this approach, manufacturers can design products that maximize resource efficiency and reduce long-term waste. While designing out waste works for some sectors, ready-mix concrete—ubiquitous in the built environment—is highly perishable. The most practical approach is to capture this excess stream of high-quality certified ready-mix concrete and up-cycle it into equally high-quality precast concrete products, such as Interbloc and Stonebloc."
"These up-cycled precast concrete products are designed for durability and flexibility, allowing them to be reused and recycled for future projects. This is the Envirocon Product Stewardship approach, New Zealand’s first and only construction-related product stewardship scheme accredited by the Minister for the Environment under the Waste Minimisation Act 2008. By closing the loop on concrete waste, Envirocon is leading the way in sustainable construction solutions.

BUY-BACK SCHEME
One unique characteristic of the Interbloc precast wall system is its ability to be non-destructively dismantled, allowing the blocks to be reconfigured or reused. When you no longer need the blocks, Envirocon offers a unique buyback guarantee, reinforcing our commitment to practical sustainability and the circular economy. This ensures that Interbloc customers have an asset with value at the end of its life—something rare in the building materials industry."
"Envirocon will buy back only the Interbloc precast concrete blocks that it manufactured and sold, with the buyback price calculated as a percentage of the original purchase price, quality, and age of the block as outlined in the table below. Please note that blocks originally sold as seconds, rejects, special blocks, flat top, flat bottom, and capper blocks are excluded, although we may still choose to offer a buyback for these blocks on an ad hoc basis.
